‘Blue Carbon,’ Greener World

Rising sea levels threaten delicate “blue carbon” ecosystems that naturally absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and bury it deep within the soil. USC researchers are studying this threat through a two-part project in the tidal salt marshes of Orange County’s Upper Newport Bay Ecological Reserve.

    USC Sustainability Hub Open House

    Help the USC Sustainability Hub celebrate its one-year anniversary and stop by Room 101 in the Gwynn Wilson Student Union building to drop off e-waste, register to vote, sign up for transit subsidies, get a free skateboard tune-up and more. The hub is a multi-use gathering space for the USC community to collaborate around sustainability solutions.

    Lifespan Through Kimono

    The USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology presents a kimono collection showcase celebrating the art of beautiful living through the wearing of kimono throughout the different stages of life in conjunction with the annual Geroscience Los Angeles Meeting. Modeling the kimonos will be 30 Yamano students from Japan and individuals from the Los Angeles community.
